Founder

My approach to teaching is to meet each student where they’re at in terms of past experience, goals, and interests.

I believe strongly that there’s no one style of music that’s superior to others or that you need to learn before moving onto other forms. If Adele is who moves you, then we’ll focus on soulful pop vocals. If musical theatre performance is your passion, I’ll help you build the unique set of skills and repertoire necessary to achieve your goals. And if it’s the classical voice experience you want, we’ll certainly start from there. My instruction is focused on evidence-based vocal health, but also on positivity and joy.

“…Courage is required in whatever one does; courage itself is power.” – Sri Anamdamayee Ma

To express yourself as you are takes courage. As a teacher, my mission is to teach students to develop confidence, perseverance, and resilience; and I use music as my method. Every time students practice or perform they have the chance to develop these skills as well as the skill of communicating a message through genuine self-expression.

I always want my students to understand why their voice works the way it does and thus how to work with and control it.

I want to make sure that each student leaves my lessons feeling like they have progressed in some way, or at least seeing an avenue for their progression to happen along the way. I want to give each of my students the tools for learning and improving alongside and outside of lessons. Practice, practice, practice!

As a musician, you have to know your worth, because what you do can move people. Music changes lives!

Teaching voice and piano is such a gift; I can’t imagine my life without it! Every new skill that my students gain feels like a shared victory. Together we work on our technique, build confidence, and have fun! It is music after all, it should bring you joy! I like to teach in ways that challenge my students, but always within a safe space to learn and ask questions. Whether you just want to sing better in the shower, or you dream of a starring role in a musical, I’d love to be a part of your process!

Whether you are a beginner with no experience or you want to improve and build on the skills you already have, I love helping people of all ages get excited about music and becoming better musicians.

I think that everyone and anyone can learn to make music. I also believe that music is something bigger than the individual that we get to take part in. My approach to teaching is to show students proper training and relevant techniques for both instruments and voice, in a comfortable environment that is conducive to learning. I think that people learn faster and enjoy practicing, when they are learning to make the music that they would like to listen to. Above all, I want students to love music and enjoy the process of learning, practicing, creating, and growing as a musician.
